How To: Valentine's Day Date Night Look

Hey ya'll! Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I wanted to post a step by step look you guys can follow that is easy and super cute for date night! I LOVE a red lip and girly soft pink eye with a heavy lash focus, so that is what I chose for my look today. Let's hop right in, shall we?!

To begin, I always prep my skin with my daily skin care routine to hydrate and plump my skin so it is all ready for makeup.

For my skin base, I will be using IT Cosmetics Matte CC Cream for my foundation with a buffing foundation brush, Becca color corrector under my eyes before concealer, NARS radiant creamy concealer under my eyes, and NARS soft matte complete concealer on any blemishes my CC cream didn't cover on my skin. I want my skin to be a medium/ full coverage matte finish for this look since I will be rocking a glossy red lip and shimmery light pink eye.

After my base and concealer are on, I like to prep my eyelids with an eyeshadow primer. My favorite is Make Up Forever's eye and lip primer. Since we are doing a red lip and we don't want that to move around, throw a tiny bit on your lips while you're at it. I like to use a shadow primer since my lids tend to get oily and crease. This will make my shadow stay all day as well. I just use my finger for this step and apply a small amount to cover the whole lid from lash line to brow bone. After applying, I move to brows so the primer can set before applying shadow.

After lid/lip primer and brows, I get into shadow. I am going to use the Urban decay Naked 3 palette for this eye look. I start by packing the shade "Strange" on to my brow bone to highlight. I do this with a small dense eyeshadow brush. I am going to use the MAC Paint Pot in shade "Bare Study" as a shimmer base for my lid. I like a flat or fluffy synthetic brush for applying cream products to the lid. On top of the cream shadow, I will pack the shade "Brurnout" from my palette all over the lid. To ever so slightly define my outer corner and crease, I will apply shade "Limit" with a fluffy brush onto the outer corner of my eye and outer crease of my eye. From here, I will Highlight my inner corner or tear duct area with shade "Dust" with a pencil shaped brush wet with some MAC Fix+ to get it to adhere better. To define my lower lash line, I will use shade "Darkside" with a pencil brush from the outer corner about half way in towards my lower lash line.

Next, I will apply my favorite lash, the Sephora brand "Plush" luxe false lash, to both eyes with my house of lashes glue. This will give a sultry wide eyed look to this soft pink shimmery eye. I will now coat my lashes with mascara to blend them in with the false lash, and coat my bottom lashes as well. Boy, what a difference lashes make!

Now, to finish my face. I will do a very soft contour with my Kat Von D Shade and Light palette, but I want my blush and highlight to be the focus of the skin. Next, I will pop MAC Mineralize Blush in shade "Ray Beam" on the apples of my cheeks for a pop of color. Finally, I will finish the skin with a subtle glossy highlight from Nudestix..the Nudies all over face color in "Illumi-naughty." I Like to apply this highlight with my fingers. I like to set my t-zone with a translucent finishing powder to mattify those spots that tend to get a little oily, then spray my face with the Morphe continuous setting mist to set the look in place for the night!

Finally, my favorite part is a delish red pout on the lips. Any red of your choice will do, but for this look I am using MAC "Cherry" Lip pencil and MAC "Ruby Woo" Lipstick and topping it with clear gloss. Voila! The look is complete. Feel free to send me photos of your Valentine's Day re-creations of this look! If you guys have any questions feel free to message me for tips! Keep in mind I also offer one on one, hands on lessons for makeup application.

Xoxo

Maggie
